Load management and OCPP – right in the control cabinet.
For sites with up to 25 charge points: underground car parks, commercial yards, retail
branches or campsites. Edge S is a compact industrial NPU box – 12–24 V DC, control-cabinet
mount – bringing the OCPP server, dynamic load management and AI anomaly detection to
where your charge points are.
Built for small sites with a limited grid connection.
Wherever charging demand exceeds connection capacity – and nobody wants to install a
server rack.
Commercial yard & retail branch
Company cars, delivery vans and employee vehicles charge on the same connection as the
workshop and sales floor. Edge S measures the operational load and gives the charge
points exactly the budget that is currently free – no expensive grid upgrade.
Residential & underground parking
Up to 25 parking spaces with wallboxes on the building's existing supply – shared
fairly instead of tripping breakers. The device sits in the meter cabinet, works
offline-first and needs no cloud to keep charging.
Campsite & hospitality
A real project: 8 chargers, 180 pitches, a restaurant and 60 kW of PV on a 180 kW grid
connection. One Edge box in the control cabinet balances the entire site – see the
diagram below.
From the field · Load management
180 kW connection. 8 chargers. One box.
The campsite case: Edge S live-measures the load of pitches and restaurant and adjusts
the charger budget dynamically – at noon, PV surplus flows into the vehicles; during the
evening restaurant peak, charging is throttled; at night, the most capacity is free.
A dynamic budget instead of a fixed reserve – no grid upgrade needed
If the connection drops, the box keeps regulating autonomously
The complete charging stack – in a control-cabinet format.
OCPP 1.6J / 2.0.1 locally
The OCPP server runs on the device, not in a data centre. Your wallboxes connect
directly on the local network – vendor-independent.
Dynamic load management
Meters and energy measurement via Modbus RTU/TCP, SunSpec and EEBUS: Edge S knows the
site load and continuously distributes the free budget across the charge points.
PV surplus charging
When your PV system produces a surplus, it flows into the vehicles first – including a
forecast of when it pays off to wait for the solar roof.
Offline-first
Internet down? No problem. Edge S keeps regulating autonomously: sessions continue,
load management stays active, nothing is lost.
Optional cloud sync
Connecting to a central platform – yours or ours – is optional and can be added at any
time, for example for multi-site monitoring or billing.
Cabinet-ready
12–24 V DC, −20…+60 °C, fanless, 2× Ethernet, RS485 and CAN: Edge S sits next to
breakers and meters – no server room, no fan.
Honest positioning
What Edge S deliberately does not do.
Edge S detects anomalies and forecasts loads – but local AI fault diagnostics (RAG over
OCPP logs), auto-tuning of charging profiles and the local operator portal remain
reserved for Edge L. Configuration
happens through the cloud interface or, in reduced form, locally. And if your site
grows: your configuration moves to a larger Edge variant via backup – same software
base, no fresh start.

Are 25 charge points realistic even with 22 kW wallboxes?
Yes. Dynamic load management continuously distributes the available power budget across all active charge points – 10 × 22 kW never need to draw full power at the same time. Edge S measures the rest of your site load and uses your grid connection to the full, without ever overloading it.
What happens when we outgrow 25 charge points?
Your configuration and data move to a larger Edge variant – such as Edge L – via backup. Same software base, same operation: the migration is an afternoon, not a project.
Does our electrician need special skills to install it?
No. Edge S is installed like any standard industrial device: mount it on the DIN rail, connect 24 V DC and the network. The first-boot wizard handles the rest – network, meters and wallbox discovery in under 30 minutes, no Linux skills required.
